Golgota’s History

In the 1980’s-1990’s a small number of young Christian missionaries from southern California came to Eastern Europe to share the good news of Jesus Christ. What began as a gathering of youth in Baja is now approximately 25 churches all over Hungary.

Those missionaries came for one simple reason: Jesus called them. Jesus told his disciples,
“all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Mt. 28:18-20

Jesus is still calling believers everywhere to that same work. Although Golgota has been in Hungary for less than 30 years, we stand in the heritage of true Christian faith that throughout the centuries has loved and proclaimed the truth of Jesus Christ.
